Hi, I’m Amanda! With over 15 years of experience in project management and instructional design, I specialize in creating and managing engaging learning solutions that drive real change. Building virtual training programs, classroom training, or global conferences, I do it all!
I love helping teams and organizations grow and reach their goals through well-crafted and impactful learning experiences.
Reinventing corporate training - beyond checking the box. Creating data-based, engaging, and impactful learning experiences that actually work and inspire growth.
Professional Background
My unique background working in a variety of environments means I’ve crafted programs on everything from leadership development for public service teams to onboarding employees in the hospitality industry and training soldiers to master foreign languages under tight deadlines. I specialize in working with global audiences who are geographically spread.
My approach: Take the time to uncover what people really need to know, and then transform that into practical, engaging learning experiences that stick. Whether it’s the battlefield or the boardroom, I turn dreaded training sessions into valuable, impactful learning moments that drive real change.
Instructional Design Philosophy
I believe in creating effective learning experiences using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) model, along with the Successive Approximation Model (SAM). These frameworks guide me through planning, developing, and evaluating each project to meet my learners' needs. The reality of time and resources guides my ideal philosophy. I understand that resources can sometimes be limited, and lengthy design processes aren’t always realistic.
Understanding the true goal and keeping it simple is key. How do I do this?
Needs Analysis - Asking questions and doing research to uncover the true goal and understand the project.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)- Their expertise helps me create relevant content that truly connects with learners’ real-life situations.
Focus on Adult Learning Principles - ensuring that my designs are relevant, engaging, and respectful of learners' time.
Evaluation - an essential and often undervalued part of the process. Data can show what intuition hints. Measuring results shows that the investment was worth it.
Adapt - continuously improve and adapt to changing environments and goals.
